Geff Young

All his life, Geff Young has been involved in real estate. As a kid, he loved playing in the dirt. As a teen, his father, an attorney from McKeesport, Pennsylvania, taught him the art of abstracting property titles. In choosing the path for his life, Geff followed the footsteps of his father and attended law school emphasizing real estate in his studies.

After graduating from the Dickinson School of Law in 1981, Geff first practiced law with his father in McKeesport. In 1986, Geff joined Christopher M. Abernethy, Esquire, who had a strong real estate practice in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Among Chris Abernethy’s clients was Northwood Realty and Geff was assigned the task of providing Northwood with legal counsel.

Over the years, Geff and Northwood built a solid relationship which resulted in Northwood asking Geff to join in the formation of Northwood Settlement Services to provide title insurance and closing services to Northwood’s customers and others.

In addition to the Northwood Settlement Services work, Geff still provides legal advice to Northwood Realty Services as its in-house counsel.

Geff is an active member of the Hampton Rotary Club and is very involved in its charitable work.
